Summary
Panamá Oeste is Panama’s newest province, created on 1 January 2014 from the five western districts of Panamá Province. Its capital is La Chorrera, and the province is divided into five districts and sixty corregimientos. The formation aimed to improve administrative management of the area west of the Panama Canal.
