Summary
Plaveč is a village located in the Stará Ľubovňa District of the Prešov Region in northern Slovakia. Historically first mentioned in 1287, it was part of Sáros County within the Kingdom of Hungary before 1918. The village saw liberation by the Red Army in 1945, returning it to Czechoslovakia.
