Pyrénées-Orientales

Pyrénées-Orientales, also known as Northern Catalonia, is a department within the Occitania region of Southern France. It shares a border with Spain and the Mediterranean Sea, historically being part of the Principality of Catalonia. The department was created during the French Revolution, initially named Roussillon before changing to its current name.
