Summary
Reao is an atoll located in the Tuamotu group of French Polynesia, discovered by Louis Isidore Duperrey in 1823. It was initially named "Clermont Tonnerre" and later visited by the US Exploring Expedition led by Charles Wilkes in 1839. Reao Airport was established in 1979, improving connectivity to this remote island.
