Rurutu

Rurutu is the northernmost island in the Austral archipelago of French Polynesia, functioning as both an island and a commune. Geologically, the island experienced uplift due to hotspot activity, creating unique makatea cliffs. It has become a destination for whale watching, attracting tourists between July and October.
