Summary

Santa Catalina Island is part of the San Andrés y Providencia Department of Colombia, the northernmost island politically belonging to South America. It features two bays, Old John Bay and Eliza Bay, and is inhabited by the Raizal people. The archipelago was claimed by Spain in 1510 and later administered by the Captaincy General of Guatemala.
