Summary
Scania is Sweden's southernmost historical province, located at the tip of Götaland. It largely corresponds to Skåne County, established in 1997, and contains 33 autonomous municipalities. Historically part of Denmark until 1658, it was ceded to Sweden by the Treaty of Roskilde.
