Shiga prefectural government

Shiga Prefecture is located in the Kansai region and is home to Lake Biwa, the largest freshwater lake in Japan. Historically known as Omi Province, it served as a vital junction between eastern and western Japan. The prefectural government is based in the city of Otsu.
