Summary
Sorata Municipality is the first municipal section of the Larecaja Province in the La Paz Department of Bolivia. Its capital is the town of Sorata, located at the foot of the Illampu and Ancohuma mountains. The area contains the Laguna Glaciar, known as the 17th highest lake in the world.
