Spanish Texas

Spanish Texas was a colonial province within the Viceroyalty of New Spain located in present-day North America. It served as a buffer zone against French expansion and was characterized by a network of Catholic missions and presidios. The region eventually became part of the Mexican state after independence from Spain.
