Vlasikha, Moscow Oblast

Vlasikha is a closed urban locality in Moscow Oblast, Russia, serving as the headquarters for the Strategic Missile Troops. Historically, it began as the village of Kostino, mentioned in the 17th century, and later came into the possession of Prince Alexander Mavrocordatos Firaris. During WWII, the headquarters of the Western Front were located here, playing a role in the defense of Moscow.
