Lagodekhi

Lagodekhi is a town situated in the Kakheti region of Georgia, nestled at the base of the Greater Caucasus mountains. Founded in the 8th century as Lakuasti, it initially served as a fortress ordered by Archil I. The town experienced devastation during Shah Abbas's invasion in the 17th century and later became a military settlement in 1830.
