Summary

Partizánska Šupčá is a large village and municipality in Liptovský Mikuláš District, Žilina Region of northern Slovakia. First recorded in 1252, it belonged to Liptó County of the Kingdom of Hungary before joining Czechoslovakia in 1918. After World War II its name was changed from German Šupčá to honour local partisans of the Slovak National Uprising.
