Summary
Pinneberg is a town in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany, serving as the district's capital. Originally a Germanic Thingstätte, a castle was built around 1200 AD, later captured by Count Adolf VIII. The town received municipal rights in 1875, having been a Danish 'Landdrost' seat since 1640.
