Sultanate of Tadjoura

Tadjoura is one of the oldest towns in Djibouti and serves as the capital of the Tadjourah Region. Historically, it was a significant port for trade with the Ethiopian interior and the seat of an Afar sultan. The city is known for its traditional whitewashed architecture and mosques.
