Summary
The Emirate of Asir was an independent state located on the Red Sea coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It was founded by Muhammad ibn Ali al-Idrisi during a rebellion against the Ottoman Empire. The state was eventually annexed by Saudi Arabia in 1934.
