Lebanese Republic under French mandate

The State of Greater Lebanon was established in 1920 as an autonomous state within the French Mandate of Syria. It served as a precursor to the modern Lebanese Republic, initially encompassing present-day Lebanon and parts of Syria. The mandate aimed to prepare the region for eventual independence under French guidance.
