Summary
The Lordship of Prilep emerged as a successor state to the Serbian Empire, encompassing areas of present-day North Macedonia. It was initially held by Vukašin Mrnjavčević, who became co-ruler with Emperor Stefan Uroš V in 1365. Following Vukašin's death, his son Marko Mrnjavčević inherited the realm and claimed the title of Serbian king.
