Summary
The Nakhichevan Khanate was a state under Iranian suzerainty that existed from 1747 until 1828. It was established by Heydar Qoli Khan following the death of Nader Shah and was governed by the Kangarlu tribe. The territory was eventually abolished and ceded to the Russian Empire after the Treaty of Turkmenchay.
