Summary
The Principality of Mingrelia was a historical state in Georgia, ruled by the Dadiani dynasty. It gained independence in 1557 under Levan I Dadiani, becoming a hereditary principality. The state ceased to exist after Prince Niko I Dadiani's deposition by Russia in 1867.
