Summary
Rehoboth, also known as Basterland, was a Bantustan created by the apartheid regime in South West Africa (Namibia) for the Baster people. It operated with a self-governing structure featuring a Legislative Council and a Kaptein's Council, continuing a tradition from German colonial times. The homeland ceased to exist shortly before Namibia's independence in 1989.
