Republic of Quito

The Republic of Quito was a proposed state in the territories of the Real Audiencia of Quito during the early 19th century. It emerged from aspirations for independence within the region, particularly from Guayaquil. The idea was considered during the Inca Civil War and the subsequent Spanish colonization.
