Summary
Established during the Yugoslav Wars, the SAO Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Western Syrmia was a self-proclaimed Serbian entity within Croatia. It joined the Republic of Serbian Krajina in 1992 as an exclave bordering Serbia. The Erdut Agreement in 1995 facilitated its peaceful reintegration under UN administration.
