Summary
The Thonburi Kingdom was a short-lived Siamese kingdom based in Thonburi. It was established by King Taksin the Great after the fall of Ayutthaya to the Burmese in 1767. The kingdom lasted until 1782 when it was succeeded by the Rattanakosin Kingdom under the Chakri dynasty.
