Summary
The Turkish Federated State of Cyprus was a self-proclaimed state in the northern part of Cyprus that existed from 1975 to 1983. Led by Rauf Denktaş, it was established following the Turkish invasion of the island but lacked international recognition. It was eventually succeeded by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
