Protectorate of Uganda

The Protectorate of Uganda existed as a British protectorate from 1894 until 1962. It originated from the transfer of administration rights from the Imperial British East Africa Company to the British government. Independence was achieved in 1962, with Milton Obote becoming the first prime minister.
