Kontagora Emirate

The Kontagora Emirate is a traditional state located in Niger State, Nigeria, with Kontagora as its capital. Originally comprising minor chiefdoms, it was conquered by the Fulani people in the 19th century and became a dependency of the Sokoto Caliphate. British rule was established in 1901, integrating it into the Northern Nigeria Protectorate.
