San Vicente Department

San Vicente is a department located in central El Salvador, with San Vicente serving as its capital. Established on June 12, 1824, it briefly functioned as the capital of the State of El Salvador during the Federal Republic of Central America in 1834. The region was a significant area during the Salvadoran Civil War, witnessing events like the El Calabozo massacre in 1982.
