Aruba is a constituent island country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, located in the southern Caribbean Sea. It lies approximately 29 kilometers north of the Venezuelan peninsula of Paraguaná and 80 kilometers northwest of Curaçao. Aruba gained its current status in 1986, becoming a constituent country with its official name. The island's landscape is characterized by a dry climate and arid xeric terrain, contrasting with much of the humid Caribbean. Tourism is a major contributor to Aruba's economy, attracting visitors with its beautiful beaches and warm weather.
