About country
Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country comprised of two main regions, Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia, separated by the South China Sea. Historically, the region was influenced by Malay kingdoms and later became subject to British colonial rule, gaining independence in 1957. The nation's economy is diverse, with strengths in manufacturing, agriculture, and tourism, contributing to its status as a middle-income country. Malaysia's multicultural society reflects its diverse ethnic composition, including Malay, Chinese, and Indian communities. Its strategic location along major shipping lanes has historically made it a significant trade hub.
