Summary
Krnov is a town in Bruntál District of the Moravian‑Silesian Region, Czech Republic, situated at the confluence of the Opava and Opavice rivers near the Polish border. First mentioned in 1240, it became the capital of the Duchy of Krnov in 1377 and later belonged to the Hohenzollern and Liechtenstein families. The 19th‑century industrial boom, aided by the 1872 railway, revived the town, now known for producing the cola‑based drink Kofola.
