About country
Gabon is a country on the Atlantic coast of Central Africa, situated on the equator. Its geography is diverse, encompassing coastal plains, mountains like the Cristal Mountains and Chaillu Massif, and savanna regions in the east. Historically, the area was inhabited by the Bambenga people, followed by Bantu migrations in the 14th century, and later the establishment of the Kingdom of Orungu around 1700. Colonized by France in the late 19th century, Gabon gained independence in 1960 and has since experienced a complex political landscape with multiple presidents. The economy is heavily reliant on oil revenues, contributing significantly to the national budget.
