About country
Equatorial Guinea is a country located on the west coast of Central Africa, bordering Cameroon and Gabon. Formerly known as Spanish Guinea, its name reflects its proximity to both the Equator and the Guinea region. The country's economy is heavily reliant on oil reserves discovered off its coast, despite a high GDP per capita, wealth distribution remains uneven. The majority of the population consists of the Fang people, with the Bubi people being the second largest ethnic group. The capital city recently transitioned to Ciudad de la Paz, replacing Malabo.
